MUNTE - Wellnesshotel am Stadtwald

Air conditioner was not working in hotel. We had to sleep with hotel window open. Restaurant and breakfast area also no air conditioning. We had reserved two hotel rooms and cancelled one two days before and we were charged the second room even though no one used it. Spoke to hotel reception and they confirmed that they had to charge the room and no possibility of refunding. Everything else was fine.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel. The restaurant is lovely, offering amazing food and exceptional service – something that’s becoming increasingly rare these days, especially coming from the same industry myself. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the dining experience truly enjoyable.

The wellness area is simply outstanding – the perfect place to relax and unwind after a peaceful walk around the beautiful Bürgerpark or the serene Unisee.

Everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Top marks all around .

I recently stayed at Hotel Munte with my 7-year-old daughter, and it was truly special for several reasons. The hotel, located across from Bremen's beautiful city park, provided a perfect retreat with its fantastic facilities and welcoming atmosphere.

What made our stay exceptional was the attentive staff. They went out of their way to make my daughter feel valued, from the warm welcome pack with jam for her grandparents to letting her play with the fish in the aquarium, even when the area was closed. They shared fascinating facts about the fish and, when she craved bread rolls and butter at 8 PM when the main restaurantwas closed, they prepared fresh ones for her at no extra charge.

Even during our early departure, the staff thoughtfully prepared breakfast boxes, asking my daughter what she would like. Their kindness and attention to detail made our experience unforgettable. If you seek a hotel that genuinely makes you feel special, Hotel Munte is the place to stay. Thank you!

Room was clean, appropriately appointed. The bathroom was more like a closet and needs updating. Overall the room was comfortable. The breakfast was fresh, good coffee, plenty to choose from and great service!

Very good, upmarket hotel just across Bremen city park. Rooms were clean, tidy, quiet, modern and well designed. Faculties include a massage area. There's a cosy bar and common seating area on the ground floor. Breakfast buffet was great, with warm and cold options available, service very friendly and helpful. It's quite a bit North of the city center but still easy to reach by public transport or taxi. Only the bed was a bit too soft for my taste. Otherwise recommended!

Edit: I genuinely cannot fathom how a request for their availability during ten days would be assumed to mean a request to book for ten days. Without asking for clarification...?

About their spa: these folks don't want to accommodate customers with special needs who want to use their private spa offer to avoid dealing with cramped space and other customers. When I reached out to book their spa they just responded with "only available for groups", even though I haven't told them how many guests would attend. Why they care how many people book their private spa when the cost is the same is completely beyond me. If you have a disability, assume that they won't believe you or what your needs are. I suppose unless your disability is completely obvious.

It's a renovated old family hotel featuring spa and sauna. In general nice environment and service but there are a few points of improvement, mostly in the rooms. Bathroom us quite small and basic, with very cheap shower and tap fittings that have terrible water pressure. One big gripe is lack of coffee and tea kettle in the room. We were told the standard Nespresso pod machine is only available in suites. For the 150+ euro per night price tag this is quite disappointing. Also the mini-fridge is barely a decoration, it keeps the contents warm to the touch, instead of doing the opposite. I travel with medication that requires cold storage so this is bothering me more than the average guest. And the spa that the hotel is so famous for, closes at 9:30 in the evening, so no possibility to visit after dinner.

Overall the place needs maintenance and upkeep, not worth the money.

Location is ok if you don't mind not being right in the city center, it's on a big road but across a huge park and the noise insulation was sufficient. The room we had was of a great size for a family of 4 but decoration was quite drab and kinda corporate, not sure if that's representative of all rooms. The big plus is the extensive spa center so make sure you take advantage of it: good size pool, many different saunas, steam room, infrared and cozy relaxation areas plus not crowded despite it being a bank holiday weekend. The breakfast buffet was very good value with extensive hours (7.30 to 11.30 am i believe).

Horrible experience. The hotel advertises itself as a 4 stars air-conditioned hotel. Based on this, I booked a room for my mother. She got room 211. It's a room with no air conditioner, the main light didn't work, the TV was broken, the wardrobe's door needed fixing. Should I say more? When I wrote to them to complain on putting my mother in such a room, in the middle of a heatwave, I got one of the most arrogant answers - that they advise me to next time call in advance and make sure the room is really air-conditioned before arrival. They advertise they are air conditioned! Also, she was required to pay a cleaning fee in addition to the amount she was supposed to pay. The facility and the service are not 4 stars, I would hardly give them 2. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Superbly friendly team. Very good German breakfast buffet...strawberry jam is homemade and divine. Large clean and well kept spa area, free of charge for hotel guests, with multiple saunas, pool and steam bath. On a main road nest university and large park. On bus route to centre and train station.

Great hotel. Ate at the Italian restaurant for most of the nights I was there. Only had one bad meal.. The room had air-conditioning which made it very comfortable. The arrangement of the bathroom was a bit strange and the shower was a bit small. I would stay there again.

We had a family room, actually two rooms with connecting doors. The rooms were ok. We loved the pool/spa and breakfast. We missed the airco since it was 30+ degrees outside, although that probably doesn't happen very often.

I stayed at the Munte for 3 days on a business trip in early August. The hotel is in an ideal location if your main focus is the university which is just a short pleasant walk away. It's a bit far from the centre of town but very well connected: there are several buses and a nearby tram goes every 10 minutes to the train station and can take you on to the airport for only 2.40 euros which is 10 times less than the cost of a taxi.

The Munte is a modern, nice looking, comfortable hotel and I was happy there. All in all, I recommend it as excellent value for money. That said, I travel a lot and tend to be fussy - I noted the the following good and bad points for myself in view of a likely return stay in the near future:

Good: nice looking premises, very clean, location close to the university, very efficient and polite staff, excellent breakfast, super Italian restaurant on ground floor, free fast wifi. Less Good: poor bathroom mirror lighting, no timepiece in room, some non-German sat TV channels flickered and crackled impossibly, no English language newspapers at breakfast, shower sometimes unexpectedly turned cold albeit very briefly.

Note that some larger rooms on higher floors do not have air conditioning but rather have big windows with lovely views but on the street side which can be quite noisy if left open. Since I needed to be fresh for work, I accepted the ready offer to change to a less attractive room view-wise on the first floor. It was smaller but equally comfortable and had good ac. Above all, it was dead silent.

Amazing experience at the Wald Spa! Clean, friendly, modern and quiet spa. Great selection of sauna rooms on offer including finnish sauna, steam room, infra red room, salt room, vitamin D room... My partner and I booked massages in advance via email: intensive sports massage for him and ayurvedic for me. I loved my massage! Not something I've tried before and it was so relaxing - face/head/body and stomach - for the price this was excellent, 65€ for ayurvedic with free spa entry (normally 25€ for 3 hours), 54€ for sports + 15€ spa entry surcharge. Easily half the price we would pay in the UK. My masseuse was very skilled and made me feel comfortable. Despite the language barrier we felt well looked after and would recommend to any visitors to the area, not only guests to the hotel.

The hotel is located next to Bremen University and the Bürgerpark, just 4 km from the Old Town. The hotel offers non-smoking rooms with free high-speed WiFi and a flat-screen satellite TV. The WaldSpa features an indoor pool, 6 saunas, sun beds, outdoor areas, and a beauty and massage area. Guests can enjoy free use of the gym and can participate in the fitalis courses for a fee. The hotel has two restaurants: Restaurant Wels’s menu features fish, game and more, while Trattoria del Bosco specializes in Italian food and has a pretty outdoor terrace

Worse hotel in Bremen. Not only is the room tiny for the price, the shower leaks all over the floor, you can hear through the walls, and the parking is horrible. The front desk and manager are rude and not helpful. My car was hit in the parking lot that they are charging you to stay in but yet they will not take responsibility. Tell me it is pretty much my fault even though they were the ones hosting the party in which took away from guest parking in the first place.

The location of the hotel was perfect for my purposes, the accommodations were excellent, and the staff was very professional and friendly. In addition, there is easy access to public transportation (bus and tram). I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Bremen University.

It's a good hotel. Clean room, refurbished bathroom. Unfortunately there wasn't any air conditioning in my room, so it got quite warm inside as the weather was excellent during my three days at Munte.

Greet hotel, beautiful setting next to an amazing city park. One downsite: it was warm in the room! Floorheating was set on 14 Celcius by me, but still after 10 hours with the window open it only cooled off to 25 Celius. Outside temp was 18 Celsius. It seemed like the floorheating didn't turn off.

Very nice hotel. Great pool and wellness area. Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff. The italian restaurant in the hotel is worth visisting. Recommendable for a stay in Bremen.

Again, I like nice staff and helpful people who tend to offer you guidance, the place is lovely, next to a very nice wood and a great neighborhood , winter weather there is charming with lots of activities , I took a bike from the hotel and enjoyed the city and shopping (I actually got my shopping on the bike and it worked), the breakfast is nice and colourful, of course it is about 30 mins walk from main train station, but totally liked it, next to university also makes the area active in the morning.

Discounted rooms are actually not renovated rooms but they don't say it clearly. At the Wellness are you need a 1 euro coin for lockers... Stuff is friendly and helpful
